It’s been almost a month now that I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here was revealed by NBC, but with only two days before the first episode premieres, we finally get to see the full cast. Eight of the ten cast members have been revealed for awhile, but NBC took forever to scrounge up two more “celebrities” with some only have famous husbands or friends. There are still some secrets being hidden, such as exactly how the show will work. We know that it will be based off the UK, but there was also a first season here in the US and I’m not sure if they differ at all. If not, then it will be celebrities living in the “jungle” while America votes them off. Kind of like Celebrity Big Brother meets Survivor. The hosts were also very last minute with one unknown and one somewhat known personalities. The two hosts are Myleene Kass, no clue who she is, and ex TRL host Damian Fahye. With that being said, below I’ll give my critique of the cast and some thoughts on how they will fair.
Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt: I put them together, even though they are playing separately… I think. The two are famous from the Hills and are basically play toys of the paparazzi. I don’t know how well they will fair in the wilderness, coming from LA and all but who knows. They have a pre-built fan base from their many seasons on the Hills so they could do well, I don’t know how they will do once one of them leaves though, as I’ve never heard of them being separated.
Janice Dickinson: She’s another reality star who is making her second appearance on I’m a Celebrity. She was on the UK version and actually got third place, meaning she could do well this time around. It seems she wants to play nice and “camp mom” which is not in her character at all, but we will see. She has many fans and many haters, but I see Janice sticking around for awhile, hopefully she does just for the drama factor.
John Salley: I don’t know much about him but I guess he could do well. He’s still around after retiring from the NBC so I’m sure he’ll have some fans out there to keep him in the game, but honestly I don’t have anything to go off of so there isn’t much to say.
Lou Diamond Phillips: Apparently he’s a big name, probably the biggest on the show, but he’s before my time so I have little to say about him as well. I guess it’s nice to see some non-reality star faces so he could be a break out star being that he is new.
Sanjaya Malakar: I’m sure everyone knows him, even if they never watched American Idol. We never really saw the kid off of Idol, so getting a “real” glimpse could be interesting. I don’t know how well he will fair though, but I bet he still has some lingering fans considering his season wasn’t too long ago. At least we all know that crying girl will vote for her, as many times as possible I’m sure.
Patti Blagojevich: Apparently being married to someone who is only a celebrity for breaking the law is grounds for casting on this show. Nobody has a clue who Patti is. I have a feeling that she will go home early, especially if everyone who her husband screwed over will be voting.
Stephen Baldwin: Ok this is what his third reality show now? At least! Stephen makes for good TV. He has many contradictions and we all know he’ll get into it with someone. Probably Janice. He gets emotionally involved in the shows that he is on and this reality veteran will hopefully go far, for entertainments sake.
Torrie Wilson: She retired from the WWE and probably couldn’t find a job acting, so going out for a reality show could prove well for Torrie considering how much attention Stacey Keibler got from Dancing with the Stars. I think she’ll go far on the show. She’s very athletic so when it comes to the challenges I’m sure she’ll be right there on top.
Frangela: Last, and well really last considering they were just added to the cast a few days ago. Frangela is actually playing as a pair.. their real names are really Frances Callier and Angela V. Shelton and the duo make up the 10th cast member for the show. They’ll be funny, considering they are always on VH1’s Best Week Ever and every other “I Love The” shows. I doubt they’ll enjoy camp life so could go fast, considering they aren’t a huge name in the show biz.
There you have it, that is your cast of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. What do you think? Anyone you hate, love or love to hate? Leave a comment and fill us in! The first show premieres June 1st. I’ll try and recap as much as possible, but considering its on four nights a week that may be a bit hard. We all know just how well that went for Big Brother 1….. well CBS probably forgot at least.
The Celebrity Apprentice is back with “bigger” stars and most likely less money then last season. Hey in this tough economic times even celebrities don’t have the dough to donate! Once again the team was broken into the guys versus the girls to begin the season. As Donald arrived via helicopter the new cast met and Melissa Rivers was excited to be around the group she was with. Andrew Dice Clay had some words about the mother/daughter duo and I for see some trouble between them. Back at Trump Tower the ladies chose Joan RIvers as the first Project Manager. They ended up choosing the name “Athena” while the guys complained about the lack of bagels. They threw out a few crazy names before choosing Hershel Walker as project manager. Dennis Rodman didn’t seem to agree though but everyone else was fine. They ended up picking the name Kotu which is a bit strange, but hey they have a strange group now don’t they.
Inside the boardroom Donald told the teams that their first task would be to bake and sell cupcakes. The team who sold the most cupcakes, making the most money, would win. The ladies were off to a good start with a well picked name while the guy’s name showed disharmony. Jesse didn’t like it, along with Dennis, plus Andrew Dice Clay called out Donald for the bagels. He didn’t really say anything about it though, not sure why. The guys were up and decided to use Andrew Dice Clay as their main celeb for New York. Apparently he’s famous there but they DO have the more famous group, which could prove helpful. The ladies had some trouble making a decision of where to stand which caused some friction between Joan and Annie Duke. She brought up last year and brought up the location that Joan wanted to use. Brandi did have a good point though and wanted to use the Playboy building. She wasn’t making the same mistake as last season of NOT using Hugh Hefner.
Survivor is back! Not only for its eighteenth season but the show also makes its return to Brazil in Survivor Tocantins: The Brazilian Highlands. Being the second, and not the first, season shot in HD we haven’t heard much about the newly digital Survivor but WOW does HD make the show that much more amazing. As the tribes road into the starting point Jeff revealed that this season is all about impressions. A few of the players talked about another, describing their thoughts without ever talking to them. Through this we found out that Sandy was seen as the weak old lady while Sierra is already sick. She’s had strep throat prior to starting the show yet they still put her on? Um that’s a first. With the intro, which was good, over with it was time for the game to begin. Jeff announced they had 60 seconds to grab whatever they could from the truck and they were off.
Watch The Intro Video Below
The two tribes this season are Jalapao, who is the red tribe, while Timbira is the black tribe. Each had a good pile of goods after the minute but Timbira surely won out. They grabbed all of the water and beans while Jalapao had some wood and other randoms. They didn’t seem to care though, but give them a few days and I’m sure they’ll be kicking themselves. With that fun over with Jeff announced yet another bit of fun, well for some. The first vote was happening without any names or personalities to go off of. Timbira chose sore throat Sierra while Jalapao chose old, crazy lady Sandy. Yes she is crazy, as we soon were to find out. Neither were happy about being “voted out” first but things quickly were on the up for them. The tribes were duped as the two ladies were not leaving the game but rather flying to their camp! I bet the others were angry inside as the tables switched but hey Sandy was happy!
If you don’t like reading spoilers and hate knowing what goes on in Survivor in advance, then STOP READING NOW. But if you love to know twists and turns before they begin, then continue reading since this is one post you’ll want to read about Survivor Tocantins. During the TV Guide preview Jeff Probst revealed a few early twists and turns to the Tocantins season that will surely change the game.
- As we all know two people are voted out of the tribe right at the start. Funny thing is, the two people voted out simply bypass a four hour hike and get a helicopter ride to the camp. The others have to actually take the four hour hike to camp, which is huge turn of events. The person who gets to camp first will have two choices to make: look for the idol or begin building camp.
- Exile Island will be a huge sand dune where two players will go each round. The winning tribe will send one player to Exile while that person will then turn around and pick someone from the winning tribe. The two who enter Exile will each choose an egg. One egg has the clue to the idol, which says its back at their camp, while the other gets nothing.
- Those sent to Exile will also have power as they can return to their old tribe or mutiny to the opposing tribe. They will have the choice. It is not yet known if both have to go to differing tribes though or if two can go back to one tribe.
That’s all the dirt we have for now. If you want to hear Jeff tell you the twists then watch the video below. Sugar hosted the TV Guide preview so its a fun watch!
Solitary is back for version 3.0 to torture and “experiment” with 10 new victims. On Solitary 3.0 contestants are placed into separate pods, alone and without any knowledge of who their competitors are. Tonight the third season began with a new twist, two people start per pod with one being removed before the game even officially begins. The show has a range of characters with one being a strange man who built his own pod… preparing for the show. As the contestants entered the pod they found themselves with a partner. All were a bit shocked by their non-empty pod but were told they would soon be entering solitary alone and this would be the last human interaction they have before they leave the game. RobRob, the crazy fan guy, tried all the treatments ever on the show and obviously is ready for the game. He seems a bit psycho and will surely be a force to reckon with.
As the players got to know their partners, they were told they had to compete to stay in the game. The weakest would not enter Solitary but rather leave the game before the game even begins. Each of the 10 players were told that Solitary was worse then the road to hell as they had to earn their right to stay. In order to pass the first test they had to ally with the person in their pod, running laps around a rock covered path. The three teams who completed the most laps in thirty minutes would fill in six of the pods while the two remaining teams would fight to stay. All started off well, running around the path…. well all but the yellow pod who walked most the way. After the first round Val let them all know that their first laps, with shoes, was just round one. They then had to take off their shoes for round two and all set off to run around the rocks again. All complained this time around but socks had to be removed for the final round. Nobody was excited for this one but pushed through the pain just to start the game. When all rounds were said and done the pink, brown and green pods were the winners and guaranteed themselves a spot in the nine pods. Yellow and orange were the last two teams and had to race individually for the right to stay.
