Survivor hasn't seen this many hidden idols played since Micronesia, where the art of the blindside and use of the idol came into full force. The merge has brought some greatness to the show, which went back to the basics with a rat feast. The morning following Tribal Council Natalie went for a walk and came along a rat. After freaking out just a bit she smashed it in the head with a stick and carried it back to camp all proud. It was fun to watch but also somewhat cringe worthy at the same time, considering she did just kill a rat. In the end everyone was happy to have SOME meat in their bodies but that's not what Russell had on his mind.

Before leaving for the reward challenge Russell began his search for a new hidden immunity. He assumed that it would be re-hidden and started yet another try and finding it without a clue. He did it once before without a clue so I mean why not give it a try. The Reward Challenge was interesting with its three parts. First they divided into two groups with Natalie sitting out, she ended up selecting the wrong tribe to win which meant she couldn't share in the water slide and feast. After running to gain poles with coconuts, the group then had to form numbers out of the white coconuts. After doing that they would yell the four digit number to a blindfolded player who would then feel around a wheel to form the four digits.

The yellow group, which was mostly Foa Foa members plus two Galu, were in the lead the entire time until it came to forming the digits. That's where Dave stepped it up for the purple group, which was all old Galu, who pulled ahead and gave Monica a head start at finding the digits. Once yellow got theirs Laura had little time to catch up as Monica pulled ahead and gained the win for them. They spent the day at a waterfall and natural slide eating chicken and deciding who from Foa Foa would go home first. They also got a clue saying a new hidden idol was hidden, but Russell already knew that. It also spelled the end for Kelly as she actually had a confessional. She hasn't had one all season and sadly tonight would be her first and last.

Back at camp Russell spent a ton of time looking for the idol he wasn't even sure existed. After looking around the water hole and tree mail he found it under the bridge and made himself the first and second person to ever find an idol without a clue. I mean you have to hand it to him, Russell has played the best game this season and deserves to win no matter how much he may be hated. If Richard Hatch can win so can Russell. I kind of like him now, especially because he pulled Shambo in and she is now the fifth Foa Foa. They agreed to work together and send Laura home, after everyone votes for Russell and he uses the idol. It's a perfect plan with one little catch.

At the immunity challenge the first three to use a grapple to gain two puzzle piece bags would move on. Mick and Shambo got theirs first and second while Laura came in a close third to Russell. They both grabbed their last bag at the same time and had Russell not gotten all cocky about it, he would have been in. But Laura got the bag first and put herself in the final three of the challenge. Here they had to use shaped pegs to knock out other pegs. The first to get all their pegs in the board first won. Shambo was in an early lead while Laura fell way behind. After she finally got her first peg in though she kept on trucking and won herself her second individual immunity. Now I never thought Laura would be an immunity threat but had she not won she'd be going home. Many have stayed long into the game simply by winning idols and if she continues this streak she may as well.

Back at camp things changed as Laura wasn't going home. Shambo said that Kelly should go next, since Monica is weaker and the guys will take her out so Russell followed and showed Jaison, Natalie and Mick the hidden idol. Their jaws dropped when they learned they would all be staying but they had to make sure that Russell got all the votes. There was a time when Dave/John/Laura/Monica were all talking and Russell overheard them mention possibly voting out Natalie. That put a seed into his brain that Natalie may be going instead and he swayed back and forth on whether to use the idol. Tribal Council talk really didn't matter as it was all about bashing Erik and making the divide even stronger. In the end Russell pulled out the idol, Galu people freaked and Kelly was sent home. Once again I ask why she was even on the show... who knows but now maybe we'll actually get to know a bit about her on Ponderosa.

Next week looks crazy with everyone looking for the idol. Who will find it and will Russell stay yet again? I can only hope!
