Kelly & Christy Eliminated In India On Amazing Race 13

Last weeks Amazing Race 13 ended in India and this week did as well. Following the non-elimination leg all teams knew that someone was going home and the pressure was on for Ken and Tina especially. Leaving the pit stop the next morning the teams had to find an apartment building in New Deli that would give them their first task for the day. Nick and Starr landed at the Road Block first and read us the challenge. What one teammate had to do was run through an Indian festival, climb a latter, find a clue and return to their teammate. It sounds simple but oh was it crazy. The festival involved hurling colored powder and water at others, especially the racers. Each racer got pelted as they ran throughout the crowd and even some who weren’t doing the Road Block got painted as well!
Starr decided to do the Road Block for the siblings and she completed it rather quickly got surely got painted! As they read their clue one of the festival goers ran up to Nick and painted him with pink powder. They quickily left the area and were off to their next task. Toni/Dallas arrived next, beating out Kelly/Christy, and Dallas was able to quickily find the clue. He and Toni were then off to their next task at the Bird Hospital as well. Kelly and Christy arrived at the festival next and didn’t read their clue….. again. Kelly decided to do take the task, assuming that she had to run through the crowd and pull the clues one at a time and return to Christy. The task was actually to stay at the clues, find the right one and then return but by assuming she had to pull them one by one Kelly lost valuable time.
Terrance/Sarah and Dan/Andrew both arrived after Kelly and Christy and completed the task before them. Terrance was whining the entire time because powder got in his nose while Dan found the clue quickily and both were off to the Bird Hospital. Still at the Road Block Kelly was having one hard time. She was totally painted from head to toe from the powder and almost gave up. After rereading the clue they realized she could stay at the ladder for the clue. After doing that Kelly found a clue and they were also off to the Bird House. Only problem was they had to find a taxi, apparently they had trouble being so “dirty” from the paint but eventually found a taxi. Ken and Tina were last at the task and while Ken was grabbing the clue Tina got pelted by green paint. She wasn’t too happy and actually pushed the throwers back. Good thing they did paint her though, she looked hilarious running around India with green hair for the entire episode.
At the Bird Hospital the teams had to search through the cages to find their next clue. Nick/Starr and Toni/Dallas quickily found the clue and were on their way. Terence/Sarah were there next and after crawling around in the one bird cage they realized where the clue was and were also off. The rest found their clues in the order they left the Road Block except for Ken/Tina. They had to first complete their Speed Bump from last round before going to the Detour. What they had to do was hand out holy water to people on the street. The catch was they had to do so until there were no more patrons for them to serve. At their Speed Bump the two worked together and Tina was rather upbeat. It seemed they were having fun although they knew it was a risk having the extra task.
With all the teams now ready for the Detour they had two choices to choose from. They could choose Bleary Eyed and find tags hanging on the power lines of a street or Teary Eyed and carry chili peppers to a story and grind the peppers into chili powder. Nick and Starr arrived at the power line location first and quickily found the first tag. Realizing they might have missed one they returned to the start of the street and ran into Toni and Dallas. The siblings acted as if they hadn’t seen any tags yet and decided to work together with the mother and son. It seemed to work out for the two teams as they quickily finished the Detour and found all the tags. They were then off to the pit stop and after a crazy amount of traffic Nick and Starr gained their third first place finish in a row. Toni and Dallas weren’t too upset to finish second but still wish they had beaten Nick and Starr.
Over at the chili challenge Terrence and Sarah were the only ones to complete it. After getting to the grinding location they complained for most of the time as the chili powder was putting them in some pain. Their whole body was burning and Terrence let us know the entire time. He’s a whiner this season but Sarah sure puts up with it. They finished their powder and finished in third, leaving three more teams left. Back at the street both Kelly/Christy and Dan/Andrew were working on the tags. Both were using the wrong numbers and looking at the tags on the store fronts rather then the tags on the power lines. Ken and Tina then arrived, after pushing some traffic out of their way and finishing their speed bump, and caught on to the Detour quickily. They finished in one try, unlike Dan/Andrew and Kelly/Christy and actually gave Dan and Andrew the help they needed to find the tags. With Ken and Tina finishing in fourth they made up their lost time from last round and that meant another team would be leaving. Since both Dan/Andrew and Kelly/Christy now knew what the tags looked like they quickily finished the task and were on a race to the mat. Dan and Andrew luckily made it to the mat fifth, saving them once again. This meant that Kelly and Christy were sent home but both were upbeat. Next week the guys self destruct again while a Fast Forward pits two teams in a tense car race. Who will make it first and who will have to go back and finish the rest of the leg?
