I am so surprised with what went down tonight on Idol. Clear contestants that should have made it to the Top 12 were sent home, and obvious singers
that seemed to ruin their chances this week made it to next. Before the madness started, the group sang Michael Buble’s “I Just
Haven’t Met You Yet” and it wasn’t all that bad. Also revealed at the start of the show was the topic for next week’s singers,
which are songs from The Rolling Stones. That should be interesting! Still, get on with the results already! First up in the hot seat was Didi
Benami and she was the first one into the Top 12. We’re off to a good start! Then Siobhan Magnus was told she made it through and thank goodness
for that! I really look forward to seeing her perform on the big stage next week. It was then between Paige Miles and Katelyn Epperly and I was SURE
that Paige was out. Even though Katelyn semi-sucked this week, Paige REALLY sucked. Katelyn has become a favorite of mine and sadly, Paige made it
through over her into the Top 12. I’m not happy about this first decision, America.
Tim Urban has had a very rocky road on Idol this season, so
who knew which way America would vote. He was told to hang tight while Toddrick Hall and Lee Dewyze were reviewed and told to hang on as well. Casey
James was then told he made it and this didn’t come as a surprise at all. Then Tim was told he was safe, which is obviously because of his lucky
performance this week. Between Toddrick and Lee it HAD to be Lee in and Toddrick out, though I really enjoyed Toddrick this week. Randy said that
Toddrick came back this week but Lee has been consistent and deserves the Top 12 spot. And that’s exactly what happened. 2 out, 2 more to
go. Then a random duet by Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giraud took place on the Idol stage, which excited and annoyed me at the same time. I LOVED
Matt last season, but couldn’t stand Scott. Regardless, they sang “Tell Her About It” by Billy Joel and it was actually really good!
Very upbeat and fun. Both of them played the piano and sang together like they have been doing so for years. 6 more spots were needed to fill
the Top 12. Crystal Bowersox was easily told she made it through and she actually looked a little bit nervous. She shouldn’t have been –
she’s the one that everyone knew would make it through. Following Crystal was Michael Lynche, who also easily made it after this week’s
spectacular performance. Up next was Lacey Brown and, as a good surprise, she made it through! I’m so happy for her! Aaron Kelly was next and
again, I was convinced that this kid was out. As a bad surprise for me, he made it through, filling sure spots that should have gone to other
favorites. It was then down to Alex and Andrew. I thought both of these guys would have made it, but since Andrew has struggled lately, I thought
maybe Alex would make it through. He seems to be a favorite for many. Even so, Andrew was graced with another shot and Alex was sent home. My God, I
felt so bad for Alex! This kid really grew on me and he seemed so upset about not making it. He was definitely fighting tears and his final
performance was really sad to watch. All the girls I watched the show with tonight felt so sad for Alex. Fighting for the final spot was Lilly
Scott and Katie. Though both of them have shined, I KNEW Lilly was in and Katie was out, especially after her rough performance this week. In another
shocking twist, Katie made it through and Lilly was out! Again, this really bummed me out! Lilly was unique and had truly defined herself as an artist
on the show. She also seemed very sad about the results.
So there you have it, America. We said goodbye to Katelyn Epperly, Toddrick Hall, Alex
Lambert, and Lilly Scott tonight. The Top 12 has been finalized and they hit the big stage next week, performing against each other in one night for
the first time this season. Tune in next week to see how they’ll perform!
