Ahh, time for another elimination on Idol. I was hoping for some better results compared to last week! The show started off with the contestants lip-syncing “I Got a Feeling” to get the crowd pumped up for results night. It looked like they had fun with it, but everyone really only cares of seeing who goes home.

We got to find out which guys were sent home before the girls this week. First up was Tim, who was told he was safe. Good – I think he deserves to be there next week after redeeming himself from last week! Todrick was told to remain standing, which usually means that person’s in trouble. This wasn’t surprising after Tuesday’s rocky performance. Then Michael and Casey were both told they were safe, which everyone probably figured would happen. That left John and Todrick, and between the two of them, John was sent home. I thought both of them would go home tonight, but seems like Todrick was given another shot. John left the show with a smile on his face, saying that the highlight of his experience was Shania Twain during his audition and that he has no regrets. I’m sure his acappella team will welcome him with open arms.

After the commercial break, the rest of the boys were in the hot seat. Lee was told he was safe, which was a given and makes me very happy! Aaron and Alex were also told they’re through to next week, giving them both chances to work on their confidence and improve on stage. That left things between Jermaine and Andrew, and I was hoping that Andrew would be safe. Thankfully he was, sending Jermaine home. Ryan said that he was one of the more vocal contestants and asked Jermaine if he thought his mouth influenced him leaving. He said no and talked for what seemed a long time about God’s plan for him and that talent isn’t something that is taught. I think that his mouth helped bring his experience to an end earlier than it could have been.

Before we got to see which girls were leaving the show, Season 8 favorite Danny Gokey returned to the Idol stage to sing his new song, which surprisingly was within the country genre. He talked about how Randy Travis suggested it to him last year on the show and continued to talk at rapid speed for a few minutes. He seemed either very excited to be back or like he drank 5 Red Bulls before the show. But I liked his song and like Danny as a performer.

Anyway, on with the girl’s results. Lilly was told she was safe, which was great. Then Paige was told she was safe, which made me a little nervous. Katie was also safe, leaving things between Didi and Michelle. In somewhat of a surprise, Didi was safe and Michelle was out. I really thought Michelle was going to stay for another week after last night! But even Kara, who greatly praised her performance last night, said that she watched the show back and did not have the same reaction that she did when it was during the live show. Michelle seemed a little thrown off that she was leaving, but gave it her all for her last performance and seemed very thankful for her time on the show. Sad. I was starting to like her.

The rest of the girls were then told who was safe and who was going home. Katelyn was told she was safe and I’m thrilled! She is my new favorite girl right now. Crystal and Siobhan were also safe, which also made me happy because I like them too! But then I realized that it was down to Haeley and Lacey. I feared for Lacey to leave over Haeley, which would have been just awful. Ryan asked Simon who he thought was leaving and he said it’s obvious to everyone watching who’s going home. Praise the Lord, people – Haeley was sent home! I cheered in this moment because I really wanted Lacey to have another shot. But then I felt really sad for Haeley because she got really upset and had to dreadfully sing her song while crying. And literally, all the girls were crying too. This made me and the girls I was watching with think that maybe she was really sweet in person and just annoying on TV. Even Crystal, who I would think wouldn’t get emotional about things, seemed to be really upset about the results. Anyway, Haeley’s only 16 and has time to develop her skills and she won’t be an annoying 16 year old forever.

So there you have it, friends. John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn are all out of the competition. 16 contestants will have to fight for their Top 12 spot next week on Idol. Tune in to find out who makes it to the big stage and levels of the competition!
