Candelabra Takes Next Team Out of the Amazing Race

The Amazing Race has had its run of stupid decisions this season and tonight was no different as a candelabra caused one team to fall behind and ultimately get eliminated. Following their stint in Sweden the final five must board a ferry to carry them across the river to Estonia. All realize that the trip will last 16 hours and take it upon themselves to relax before rushing out the ferry doors and into a land of confusion. It was odd to see a leg of the race go so long before actually starting, not sure why they didn't just hold them over until the ferry opened because there was little to show between Sweden and Estonia.

Once there like I said they raced like crazy off the ferry and to the Black Head society where Most teams arrived around the same time as another, so opening the door with the key was pointless. The Road Block took place inside the society building and had one member finding a candelabra, taking it to a marked room and using the flame of the candle to reveal a hidden message on a piece of parchment. Before doing that though Gary and Matt had the toughest Speed Bump ever of sitting in a sauna for five long, agonizing minutes. Yeah... not so hard now was it? Gary was humorous not knowing what a sauna was then saying everyone in his family has one. Kinda confused my self on that one but he made up for it by singing his sauna song.

Back in the society building Flight Time was confused on what to do with the parchment he found. He first tried scribbling on it with a crayon to see if the message would decode but the others had little difficulty finding the clue. It led them to their next task but wait, Matt had to start his part of the Road Block. Matt chose to do the task but didn't know what a candelabra was. He asked one of the men standing there if he was a candelabra and if he could lead him to the marked door. The guy just gave him a strange look and Matt kept on trying, luckily he figured it out but not until everyone already left the Road Block.

At the Herman Tower Gardens the next clue lead teams to their Detour which caused some taxi drama. First Brian gave up his and Ericka's taxi to Cheyne and Meghan, who lied that they would call a taxi for them. They didn't, but it got worse. Sam and Dan then tried to steal a taxi from a lady who couldn't walk, then the Globetrotters tried to steal Sam and Dan's taxi. It was just a taxi stealing mess but in the end nobody got hurt, yet. Meghan/Cheyne got to the Detour first which was either play volleyball in the mud or try to hit a moose sign with a slingshot. Both looked easy until you actually tried them.

Before anyone could even get to the Detour Meghan/Cheyne had the volleyball mission done. They had little difficulty getting the five points but it was fun to see them slam into the mud time and time again at least. This is their third time finishing in first now, they are seriously the team to beat and I called it from the start. The Globetrotters/brothers and Brian/Ericka all arrived at the Detour at the same time and all missed the entrance. They ran through the woods for awhile and finally stumbled upon the signs. The Globetrotters and brothers got to the volleyball first so Ericka/Brian began the slingshot Detour which put them behind but still kept them in it.

Sam/Dan and the Globetrotters both had issues with the volleyball task but the Globetrotters finished first. Sam and Dan finished only a few minutes behind them and since the Trotters ran the wrong way to begin with Sam and Dan were able to check in with Phil second, rather then third. Their big fight was just getting started though as it seemed another "who did it" push was made similar to last season. It seems that Big Easy pushed Dan and both fell as a result. Dan was able to rebound though while Big Easy tumbled, allowing the brothers to pull ahead. Ericka/Brian were also able to finish the slingshot before Matt/Gary arrived, putting them in fourth and the father/son team in last and out of the race. They started off strong and disappeared until recently. It was fun watching the two throughout the race but I don't think they had much left in them.
